OBAMA VS. ROMNEY
WHO WILL GET YOUR VOTE?
Candidate: Barack Obama
Party: Democratic- The political party that supports social liberialism. They believe in the Federal government to help those in need. They often implement tax plans to aide the less privileged; they believe in lowering the taxes on the poor and increasing taxes on the rich. They also believe the government should look for the greater good than the individual and do what's necessary to make the population move towards equality. They support conversial issues such as Pro Choice, gay marriage, and more gun control
Policies:
1) Healthcare- Obamacare is Obama's health policy that provides health coverage to an extra 30 million of the poorest Americans.
2). Foreign Policies:
a). Responsible for ending war in Iraq
b). Marshalled global effort in stopping the spread of weapons of mass destruction.
c). Efforts to rectify common global issues such as global warming.
d). Captured and killed Osama Bin Laden.
3). Social- In 2010 signed the Don't Ask, Don't Tell Act, which ended the policy of not allowing state their sexual orientation in the military.
4). Economic: Implemented tax cuts and stimulus plans to aide those in need. Repeal tax cuts for household earning more $250,000 a year.
Candidate: Mitt Romney
Party: Republican- The political party that support American conservatism. They believe that people shouldn't rely on the Federal government, but on themselves. They believe in less government interference hold strong belief in property right and less in welfare-rights. They also believe economic equity than equality. They want to lower taxes on everyone not just the poor.They tend to be against the consversial issues such abortion,gay marriage and less gun control.
Policies:
1). Health- Repeal Obamacare and encourge individuals to purchase their own insurance rather than rely on employers.
2). Foreign:
a). Believes China is responsible for taking American jobs, would make changes due to the unfair trade practices.
b) Believes America should stay in Iraq to reduce casualities and maintain democracy in Iraq.
3). Social- Support increasing child care funding for mother with two-year old children. Supports the Don't Ask, Don't Tell Policy but opposes gay marriage.
4). Economic- Make Bush tax cuts permanent and lower the coporate tax rate across the board to 25%.
